Your Waverley Park Experience

Waverley Park is a great place to live but could be improved. Here are a few suggestions:

1. No road closures - Some residents are pushing for Dinmont and Durward to be closed off. This would create a local cul-de-sac and shunt more traffic past Shawlands Primary and Shawlands Academy. This is dangerous and any residents opposed to this should make their voice heard or email me at brianponsonby@btinternet.com

2 Traffic calming - concerns over speeding could be addressed with traffic calming measures such as speed bumps.

3. Back lanes - Local kids play lots in the back lanes but many are not in great condition. It would be useful to discuss options for resurfacing and possible landscaping that would keep them as vital communal access points but allow kids to safely hang out.

4. Litter and dog fouling - in my experience this isn’t a huge issue but for residents who feel it is then more litter and dog waste bins throughout Waverley would be helpful.

5. Winter safety - more grit / salt bins around Waverley to help keep paths safe underfoot . This would also be useful for older residents who may be unable to walk to current locations with heavy buckets.
