Tell us your experiences

What’s your daily walk to the shops or the bus stop?

How is it good or bad?

Where do you like playing or cycling?

How could we make it better?

Tell us the good, the bad and the ugly about the streets and spaces around Waverley Park.

Add your Waverley Park experience

We need to understand how you move around Waverley Park, where you go, the streets and spaces you like and don’t like as much. That will help us focus on what to improve.

The best way of understanding those things is to ask you, the residents of Waverley Park, about your everyday experiences.

Please tell us! You can take a picture, write a few words, make a video or send us a sketch - whatever is best for you.

Click the button on the left to submit your experience, and see it appear in the mosaic. Don’t forget to encourage your neighbour or friend to do the same. Let’s start a relay to reach everybody in Waverley Park!

Thanks for organising this. It's a good way of getting suggestions. I think the number one priority needs to be the volume and speed of traffic, particularly on Ravenswood and Dinmont as these are probably the main walking route to schools. I'...

The reason that people park all over the footways on Ravenswood and Dinmont, is not just for a laugh. Sure, some people do it because they just don't care. But most do it because they are trying to let let the thousands of cars, vans and trucks pa...

It’s great to see a group of neighbours dedicating their free time to help improve our community. The fact that we border two schools means we’ve got an opportunity to do something that makes the trip on foot or by bike to school better and safer....

Seeing the car upturned on its roof was the final straw for me. Are we just waiting until someone gets killed? I was due in court last year as a witness to a traffic accident. A driver sped up Ravenswood at 3pm, kids everywhere and ploughed into a...

My experience of living on Ravenswood Drive for almost 10 years is that through traffic is a hazard to my children crossing the road. It's a hazard to me when I'm cycling. It's a hazard to my children when they're cycling. It stops me from letting...

As lifelong residents of Waverley Park we fail to understand the requirement for play areas as most residents have gardens and we are close to three major parks for recreational purposes and cycle lanes in a residential area would impact greatly ...

We've lived here for around forty years. It has always been a wonderful, united community where neighbours continue to look after one another. In the space of a couple of weeks, this project has divided our community due to what I can only call so...

Many years ago, kids would play in the streets and run through the lanes. I do believe that the lanes are a major strength to the area and we as a community could come together to develop them and make them clean, tidy and a nice place to walk thr...

The lanes could become a very safe active travel corridor to allow people to navigate away from the busy roads. Adults and children would be away from dangerous pollutants, allowing them to move quickly and safely avoiding dangerous traffic. The ...

Close the roads at Durward & Dinmont with a loop system. Speed maximum 15mph. Play parks etc not necessary, plenty parks nearby. With roads to through traffic closed off, streets will be safe for children of the area to play safely.

We love living in Waverley Park. I feel like we accidentally landed in a gem of a place without planning it. The Ravenswood Drive dinner and street play day two years ago was great for getting to know people. The Halloween Windows was such a fun c...

As a dog walker, I frequently walk all over the WP area. It concerned me recently to discover Nitrous Oxide canisters and balloons discarded all over the place but in particular in the lanes adjacent to the school (Take from that what you will). I...

I think if this money was used for anything other than traffic calming, it would be ridiculous. Given that there was a car upside down on Ravenswood Drive not too long ago, I don't think playparks are a priority. Whether it be speed bumps, a one w...

I think Waverley Park is a great place to live but the speed, noise and level of through traffic is getting so bad I’m considering moving away. At night and during the day people go at incredible speeds with no consideration for the people who lov...

I think the most important issue is the through traffic and speeding. If this is not solved first there is little chance of any the other improvements suggested happening.

Hello, hoping someone can help - I sent an email to the WPC on Tuesday 23rd February and assume it's maybe gone to your spam folder as I haven't had a reply. Can someone please check and get back to me. Thanks.

We've been living on Ravenswood Drive for 25 years now and love the area. It's a special place and it's home. Over the years we've had intermittent problems with cars driving too fast up and down the street, and there's no doubt that traffic volum...

Personally experienced criminality in the lane behind Dinmont Road; kids breaking into the church, people urinating and drinking, burning wheelie bins and spraying graffiti on the walls and gates. The lane needs better lighting and some form o...
