Tell us your experiences

What’s your daily walk to the shops or the bus stop?

How is it good or bad?

Where do you like playing or cycling?

How could we make it better?

Tell us the good, the bad and the ugly about the streets and spaces around Waverley Park.

Add your Waverley Park experience

We need to understand how you move around Waverley Park, where you go, the streets and spaces you like and don’t like as much. That will help us focus on what to improve.

The best way of understanding those things is to ask you, the residents of Waverley Park, about your everyday experiences.

Please tell us! You can take a picture, write a few words, make a video or send us a sketch - whatever is best for you.

Click the button on the left to submit your experience, and see it appear in the mosaic. Don’t forget to encourage your neighbour or friend to do the same. Let’s start a relay to reach everybody in Waverley Park!

For people asking about car charging, I think one solution is to share chargers. i have a car charger on my driveway and I use it one or two nights a week. You can arrange to use it through the co-charger app or contact me through zap map and pay ...

I love hearing all the kids coming and going from school. Hundreds of kids and their families pass through here and I’d love if we could make their travel an even better experience, by having a more interesting, greener and safer route. Less traff...

It was a particularly depressing day when GCC sent road-markers out, and they painted massive '20' (mph) signs on the cobbled lane behind Ravenswood Rd.. not only because it was unsightly and destructive to the ancient cobbles, but also because if...

I agree with the previous post about building play parks in the suggested places. We need to think about the neighbours who live next to these areas. We do live very near various parks with great play areas for kids so we shouldn’t have to disrupt...

I love Waverley Park and have lived here my whole life (on two different streets!) I love the friendly, community feel offered by projects such as the Waverley Windows. As someone who spent their childhood growing up in this area and who will b...

I would like to see something done to improve drainage so that there are no big puddles in front of the dropped kerbs - particularly on Dinmont at the junctions with Ravenshall and Moss-side Rd. As a pushchair user this makes it quite difficult fo...

I love this area. Love the way people have embraced the community projects we’ve already done including the play out day and Halloween windows. I can’t wait to see how people come together with ideas and compromise on what different people want to...

In response to deirdre hoyle's post on icy roads and closing off roads. I have lived in WP for over 34 years and I can recall only one ocassion in all of that time when vehicles were unable to negotiate their way up Ravenswood Drive due to icy co...

Shortly after we moved in, a more enlightened neighbour than I highlighted that the area is named after the Waverley Novels by Walter Scott (probably obvious to many but I hadn't thought about it). And that the street names are characters or parts...

I see the issue of closing streets has been raised again. The idea of closing the end of Durward was rejected, rightly in my opinion. With that route closed, those at the bottom of the north-facing hill would have very steep hills to negotiate i...

This is a lovely place to live. However, there are a few things we could do to improve our experience of moving around the area, and thus improve everyone's mental wellbeing. For example, our back lane, which borders the railway, was a horrible ...

I think before people get carried away with proposals for creating new play areas, benches, plazas, planters, scooter lanes and the like, individuals/residents need first to properly look after what they currently do have responsibility for (lane...

In addition to Stewart's comment, speed bumps aren't used much anymore as drivers just speed up in between them, which is bad for pollution and safety. It would still be quicker to go down Ravenswood with speed bumps than go past the lights so I d...

In response to the post today 19th Feb by anonymous about speed bumps in all streets to avoid creating new rat runs elsewhere is exactly why a full closure scheme is the only viable solution. Two closures as suggested in the Dimont/Durward Loop...

As a dog owner I totally agree with the previous comment (from anonymous) on dog fouling. It's totally unacceptable. I regularly have to pick other people's dog dirt.

It is disappointing to still see dog dirt on pavements so regularly: those people who do not clean up after their dogs know who they are - please stop it!

I agree with many others that speeding traffic is a problem, especially the many who use Ravenswood and Durward as rat runs. However if we use speed bumps or other measures to control this, the risk is that other streets will then be used as rat r...

Love it here. Been here for 25 years and want to be here for last least another 25! Most of the houses are in a terrace, so don't have off street parking. Parking isn't the issue, but with no on street electric car charging points, all local resi...
